Professional Horseman Program

Tuition Cost: 6wk Working horseman course $5,000.,

12wk Certified Horseman course $9,000.,  24wk Tradesman Horseman course $15,000. 36wk Professional Horseman course $22,500* requires a 2.5 year commitment to an apprenticeship.

Schedule: Daily 6 hour sessions 6 days a week

A professional horseman is 

an individual with deep expertise in the art and practice of managing, training, and riding horses, who earns their living through these specialized skills. Beyond merely riding, a true professional horseman prioritizes the horse's, often combining technical skill with an intuitive, compassionate understanding of equine behavior.

Core Components of a Professional Horseman

• Expertise & Skills: Possess high-level skills in horsemanship, which include handling, training, grooming, feeding, and comprehensive care. They are often proficient in starting young horses and training them through to competition level in various disciplines.

• Versatility: Capable of working across different disciplines (e.g., dressage, jumping, racing, ranch work) and can adapt their methods to the individual horse.

• Dedication & Mentality; Patient, methodical, and committed to continuous learning. They understand that building a true partnership and bond takes time and trust.

• Professionalism: Holding themselves to specific codes of ethics and a high level of professionalism and continuing education

Join us for our 6wk, 12wk, 24wk, 36 wk session where students dive deep into the world of horses. Not only will they enjoy riding, but they'll also gain valuable knowledge about horse handeling, horse husbandry, maintenance and identification of different types of tack, explore training techniques, and much more. It's the perfect blend of hands-on experience and essential education for any equine professional or horse enthusiast!​

Each session will be limited to 5 students.

To qualify for the Horsemanship Program, students must be at least 16 yrs old and older, we require that students participate in either private or group lessons first. This helps us ensure that they can ride independently and safely participate in a larger group setting. To help you have success and excel to the high standards in the program and industry

Horseman Responsibilities & Duties

• Horse handling

• Grooming and bathing horses

• Feeding and watering horses

• Cleaning and maintaining stables

• Exercising and riding horses

• Administering basic animal husbandry care

• Training horses for various disciplines

• Monitoring horse health and behavior

• Managing breeding programs

• Coordinating with veterinarians and farriers

• Ensuring horses are properly shod and their hooves are maintained

• Transporting horses to and from events or appointments

• Supervising stable hands and other staff

• Maintaining records of horse health, training, and performance

• Skills Needed

• Ability to work long hours and weekends

• Competency in horse transportation logistics

• Physical fitness and stamina

• Experience in grooming, feeding, and general horse care

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

• Good observational skills to detect health and behavioral issues

• Comfortable handling horses of different temperaments

• Strong organizational skills

• Willingness to undertake physically demanding tasks

• Attention to detail and safety protocols

• Ability to multi-task in a busy environment

Horseman Qualifications Learned

• Knowledge of different riding disciplines

• Basic to Advanced understanding equine behavior modification and training techniques

• Basic to Advanced understanding of equine physiology

• Understanding how to use specific. tools ex, round pens, ropes, flag ect.

• Building connection, and establishing healthy boundaries 

• Riding and training performance horses 

• Proficiency in basic animal husbandry

• Build strong communication and leadership skills

• Build record of training successful horses
